NXS: Furious 7 300 Race Preview

The NASCAR XFINITY Series will head back to the Midwest for the 15th annual Furious 7 300 at the Chicagoland Speedway. The race at the 1.5-mile oval will mark the 26th event of the season for the series. Keven Harvick, who is not scheduled to race on Saturday, comes into the weekend as the defending race winner.

The entry list features 41 drivers and teams. Some of these include Michael Self, Josh Reaume, Jimmy Weller, Matt Kenseth, John Wes Townley, Paul Menard, Kyle Larson, Kyle Busch, Benny Gordon, Kasey Kahne, Martin Roy, Dexter Bean and Mason Mingus.

Chase Elliott captured his first NASCAR XFINITY Series win of the season last Friday at the Richmond International Raceway. Elliott, a native from Georgia, snapped a 39-race winless streak and comes into the weekend with much needed momentum. Elliott goes into the race looking to capture back-to-back victories for the second time of his career. He accomplished the feat by winning at the Texas Motor Speedway and Darlington Raceway last season.

Chris Buescher continues to lead the standings in the NASCAR XFINITY Series as the series continues on from Richmond. Buescher currently holds a 21-point lead over Elliott. Ty Dillon will come into the weekend sitting third in points. Regan Smith and Elliott Sadler round out the top five.

The Joe Gibbs Racing team will come into the weekend looking to sweep both XFINITY Series races at the Chicagoland Speedway. The racing team will have Daniel Suarez, Matt Kenseth and Kyle Busch behind the wheel this weekend. JR Motorsports accomplished the feat last season by winning both races at the 1.5-mile oval.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series will be televised on NBCSN and NBC Live Extra at 6:00 p.m. ET. on Saturday. Fans can listen to live radio coverage of the race provided by the Motor Racing Network.
