Despite being cleared by doctors and NASCAR for return, Erik Jones will step aside driving duties for another week following a crash almost two weekends ago at Talladega Superspeedway. As a result, Corey Heim will again pilot the No. 43 Dollar Tree Toyota Camry this weekend at Kansas Speedway.
Heim qualified 32nd and led the team to a 25th-place finish in what was his NASCAR Cup Series debut at Dover. Prior to filling in for Jones, Heim amassed six victories in the Craftsman Truck Series through 48 career starts. The Georgia driver has 10 XFINITY Series starts with a top five and two top 10 finishes.
Like at Dover, LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team says Jones will be at Kansas Speedway this weekend and plans to return to the driver’s seat next weekend at Darlington Raceway.
