Trump National Doral to Host NASCAR Black-Tie Celebration

For the sixth consecutive year, NASCAR will host its annual NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series banquets in Miami following the conclusion of Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. New to 2014, the gala will be held at the newly renovated Trump National Doral Golf Club Hotel in Doral on Monday, Nov. 17.

“We’re thrilled that our community will again host NASCAR’s awards banquet for two of its top national series,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway president Matthew Becherer. “It remains a great ‘feather in the cap’ for South Florida. People often focus on the positive impact of the race events that we host during Ford Championship Weekend, but there are other activities that occur within the community immediately before and after our races that should not be overlooked. This event, along with Ford Championship Weekend, is one of several events that combine to provide a positive economic impact of more than $250 million annually.”

The NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series banquet will honor the series driver and owner champions, as well as the top-five drivers in each series. This will be the first year that the banquet is held at Trump National Doral Miami, which was recently purchased by the Trump Organization with plans for a $250 million resort-wide restoration.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Awards will be broadcast via tape delay on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. SiriusXM Channel 90 and MRN will carry the awards show live.

Ford Championship Weekend has been host to the season-ending championships in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for 13 consecutive years. Homestead-Miami Speedway will host the first ever Championship race under the new format for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in November, where four drivers will compete among a full 43-driver field in a race-within-a-race during the Ford EcoBoost 400.
