DGR Crosley NASCAR K&N Pro Series Advance: South Boston Speedway

Tanner Gray, No. 15 Gray Motorsports / Valvoline / Durst Toyota Camry
The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will be back in action this weekend after a three-week hiatus. Tanner Gray and his No. 15 Gray Motorsports Toyota team will head to South Boston (Va.) Speedway for The Who’sYourDriver.org Twin 100’s. The team looks to earn their first victory of the 2019 season and will have two opportunities to do so on Saturday evening.
Gray, who is competing for the K&N East Championship and Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors will be making only his fourth career start in the K&N Pro Series when he takes the green flag in Twin race No. 1. He has two prior starts in the East Series, and one start in the West. The 20-year-old racer has a best finish of second-place after narrowly missing the victory at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway, and has an average starting position of fourth.
Although he’s never raced a Toyota Camry at the 0.4-mile track of South Boston, Gray and his team go into the weekend with confidence after testing a late model there earlier this season. Seth Smith, Gray’s crew chief, also has a victory at South Boston which occurred in 2018 with Gray’s DGR-Crosley teammate, Tyler Ankrum.
You can watch the Who’sYourDriver.org Twin 100’s live on FansChoiceTV.com or catch the replay on NBCSN. The first Twin 100 will air on May 8, at 6 p.m., ET. The second race will air beginning at 6 p.m., ET on May 9 on NBCSN.
Gray on South Boston: “I’m excited to race at South Boston. I tested there early this season so when we show up, it won’t be a completely new atmosphere to me like most places have been this season. We had a good run at Irwindale [Speedway] and then went to Bristol [Motor Speedway] with a lot of speed and qualified second. I messed up, and we didn’t get the finish we wanted in Bristol, but we’ve shown up with fast cars and keep getting better every race. I’ve been watching last years races at South Boston and working with Seth [Smith] to help prepare for the Twin races this weekend. I think we can put together a solid race this weekend and hopefully get my guys their first K&N win of the season. It’s all about minimizing mistakes and learning from them when we do make them.”
Drew Dollar, No. 54 Dollar Concrete Construction Toyota Camry
Drew Dollar and his No. 54 Dollar Concrete Construction team are excited to return to NASCAR K&N Pro Series East action this weekend, where they will head to South Boston (Va.) Speedway for the only doubleheader of the season.
Saturday’s Who’sYourDriver.org Twin 100 marks Dollar’s third and fourth-career start in the K&N Pro Series East. After kicking off the season at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway with a top-10, Dollar and the No. 54 team went to Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway with confidence. He left Bristol with a fourth-place finish. They hope to keep the momentum going into this weekend during both races at South Boston.
Last year DGR-Crosley had success at South Boston Speedway, coming home with a win in the first twin race, and a second and third-place finish in race number two. Dollar has one previous start at South Boston which occurred earlier this season in a late model stock. While the race didn’t go as the team had hoped, Dollar was able to get valuable experience to help prepare him for this weekends twin races. Dollar will have another valuable asset by his side in veteran K&N Crew Chief, Chris Lawson.
You can watch the Who’sYourDriver.org Twin 100’s live on FansChoiceTV.com, or catch the replay on NBCSN. The first Twin 100 will air on May 8, at 6 p.m., ET. The second race will air beginning at 6 p.m., ET on May 9 on NBCSN.
Dollar on South Boston: “I’m feeling really confident going into this weekend at South Boston. I’ve been there in a late model, so I’m definitely excited to run there in a K&N car. It’s going to be very beneficial having Lawson [Chris Lawson] as my crew chief. It’s a fun track, and I know DGR-Crosley had a lot of success there last season. I really want to get the 54 team their first win this weekend at South Boston.”
