BMR’s Eggleston Gunning For K&N Pro Series West Title At Phoenix

Chris Eggleston aims to clinch the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship as the season comes to a close with the Casino Arizona 100 at Phoenix International Raceway on Thursday.

Eggleston, driver of the Bill McAnally Racing No. 99 NAPA Filters/H20 Fire Protection Toyota, heads to the 1-mile track with a four-point lead in the standings.

While the Erie, Colorado driver is gunning for the title in his first full season in the series; two other drivers under the BMR banner will also attempt to continue the team’s success at PIR. Brandon McReynolds, driver of the No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota, will be shooting for BMR’s third consecutive series victory at Phoenix; and 15-year-old Todd Gilliland will be looking for a strong performance in his series debut behind the wheel of the No. 54 Frontline Enterprises Toyota.

In addition to that trio of drivers, BMR has also built and prepared an entry for D.J. Kennington at PIR. Kennington, a two-time champion in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1, has registered one top-five and five top-10 finishes in BMR cars at Phoenix.

BMR has been to Victory Lane at PIR four times overall. Austin Cameron captured the team’s first win there in 2002. Eric Holmes won at Phoenix in 2010, en route to winning his third series championship. BMR swept both series races there last year, with Cole Custer winning the season opener and Nick Drake capturing the season finale.

Eggleston has two wins this season – at Irwindale (California) Speedway and at Shasta Speedway in Anderson, California. In addition, he has nine top-five and 10 top-10 finishes in 12 starts. He finished 22nd a year ago at Phoenix in his only previous start there.

McReynolds also has two victories this season – sweeping the two prestigious K&N Pro Series East-West combination races at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. The 24-year-old driver from Mooresville, North Carolina also has four top-five and seven top-10 finishes this year.

McReynolds has one top-five and three top-10 finishes in four career starts with BMR at Phoenix.

Gilliland, the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series veteran David Gilliland, will be making his series debut at the track where his father scored a series win in 2005.

The Casino Arizona 100 will be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network, “The Voice of NASCAR.” It is slated to air at 4:30 p.m. (PST) on Thursday.

The race will be televised on NBCSN on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. ET.
