NXS: Team Penske Claims Front Row at Watkins Glen International

Joey Logano will start on the pole in tomorrow’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Watkins Glen International in the Zippo 200. Logano captured the pole by posting a 1:10.814, 124.552 mph. lap time in the final round of qualifying. The pole marks Logano’s 31st XFINITY Series pole and the first of the season.

Logano’s teammate, Brad Keselowski, will start right beside the pole sitter when the field goes green. Keselowski posted a 1:10.943, 124.325 mph. around the 2.45-mile road course. Like Logano, Keselowski continues to search for his first XFINITY Series win in 2016.

Paul Menard will round out the top three on the Zippo 200 starting grid. Menard posted a 1:11.063, 124.115 mph. lap around the road course. The Wisconsin driver enters the weekend looking to capture his fourth career win in the series. His last came on a road course last season at Road America after starting in eighth.

Daniel Suarez was the highest qualifying XFINITY Series regular when the final round of qualifying came to a close. Suarez ended the final round sixth fastest on the speed chart. The native of Mexico enters the weekend looking to capture his second career XFINITY Series win. He holds eight top five and 15 top 10 finishes through 18 races.

David Starr will be the only driver who will not make the starting grid with 41 drivers on the entry list.
