JJ Yeley, driver of the No. 44 Zachry Toyota, recorded a top finish of the season for TriStar Motorsports, posting 11th on the leaderboard at the conclusion of the NASCAR XFINITY Series Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 200 at Dover International Speedway.
Yeley took the green flag for the Main Event in the 17th position after securing a ninth place finish in the first Heat. Early in the Main Event, Yeley quickly advanced to 13th, where he consistently ran for the majority of the 120 laps. A well-timed caution on Lap 70, played to Yeley’s advantage as he was the recipient of the Lucky Dog and was posted back on the lead lap. Continuing to run in the Top-15, a caution with 11 laps to go, allowed the opportunity for Crew Chief Frank Kerr to bring Yeley to pit for four tires for the No. 44 Zachry Toyota. Returning to the field, Yeley communicated he was battling a tight condition. Despite an ill handling car, Yeley persevered and took the checkers with an 11th place finish.
JJ Yeley: “Another great weekend behind the wheel of the No. 44 Zachry Toyota. The car had great speed right off the transporter. Frank and the guys have been giving 110% and it is showing. Dover is a tough race track and to have the speed we had was a lot of fun. I wish we could have capitalized on the late race caution to get a top ten finish but I just couldn’t make it happen today. Still a great run and best finish so for in 2016.”
