NXS: Kyle Busch Victorious at the Chicagoland Speedway

Kyle Busch dominated the field in the Furious 7 300 at the Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday after starting on the pole in his No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry. The Las Vegas native led just over half of the 200-lap event to capture his 74th career NASCAR XFINITY Series victory.

The win did not come easy for the 30-year old as teammate Matt Kenseth put the pressure on Busch when they came to the white flag.

“That was crazy.” Busch told MRN after his victory at the 1.5-mile oval. “I didn’t know if I was going to be able to beat Matt Kenseth tonight as that guy was so strong and really fast. Early on in the race I told my crew chief Chris Gail that we have got to go to work on our Camry to make it as good as theirs”

Matt Kenseth will bring home the runner-up spot in his No. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. Kenseth started the night in the second position and stayed upfront over the course of the race. The Wisconsin native even had the opportunity at leading the field for a total of 84 laps.

Darrell Wallace Jr. will leave the 1.5-mile oval with a third-place finish in his No. 6 Roush Performance Ford. The 21-year old young star captured his third top five and 10th top 10 finish of the season on Saturday.

The points will separate even further as Chris Buescher carries a 25-point lead over Ty Dillon. Defending series champion Chase Elliott, who will walk away with a 14th-place finishing position, sits 28-points behind Buescher. Regan Smith and Elliott Sadler will round out the top five.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series will stay in the Midwest as they travel to the Kentucky Speedway next weekend for the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300. Coverage of the race will air live on NBCSN at 8:00 p.m. ET. on Saturday. Radio coverage of the race can also be heard on the Performance Racing Network.
