NXS: Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 Race Preview

The NASCAR XFINITY Series travels to Mid-Ohio for the third annual Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200. The race will mark the series second road course stop of the 2015 season. Chris Buescher comes into the weekend as the defending race winner.

A total of 40 drivers are featured on the entry list. Some of these include Michael Self, Tim Cowen, Carlos Contreras, Kenny Habul, Alex Tagliani, Dylan Lupton, Tomy Drissi, Justin Marks, Boris Said, Ben Rhodes, Andy Lally and Dylan Kwasniewski. No drivers will go home after qualifying.

Chris Buescher has a lot of momentum coming into the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Buescher continues to lead the series points and returns to a track where he captured his one and only victory in 2014. Buescher leads the series standings by 24 points over Chase Elliott and Ty Dillon. Like in the Sprint Cup Series, there is no Chase so they will have to earn points the natural way.

Team Penske will search for their third consecutive XFINITY Series victory on Saturday. The racing team went to victory lane two races ago at the Iowa Speedway with Ryan Blaney and last weekend with Joey Logano. This weekend Alex Tagliani will try and help the racing team do just that. Tagliani has yet to score a victory in a NASCAR national series race.

There will be some special people on hand to give the command to start engines on Saturday. 10 Patients Champions from Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus will have the privilege to give the most famous words of motorsports. The kids will also be paired with an XFINITY Series driver that were selected to have their paint scheme featured on the side of that car.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series race will be televised on NBCSN and Live Extra at 3:30 p.m. ET. on Saturday. You can also listen to radio coverage provided by the Motor Racing Network.
