Seven Division, Seven Main Event Program At Greenville-Pickens This Saturday

September Sizzle started off with a bang as hometown hero Kyle Benjamin from Easley, South Carolina dominated the Labor Day NASCAR K&N Pro East Series race.

The Sizzle continues this Saturday, September 10th as the Southeast Limited Late Model Series (SELLM) comes to town to join the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late models plus renegades, super stocks, four-cylinders and pure stocks for a seven-division, seven main event card sure to be action-packed.

Southeast Limited Late Model Series Pro division points leader Anthony Alfredo has his work cut out for him this Saturday in the Lee Faulk Racing Flyin’ 5, as he holds just a two-point advantage over home-track limited points leader Luke “The Young One” Sorrow, who dominated the field at Anderson Motor Speedway in last month’s SELLM Pro race there, beating Alfredo and Colby “The Kid” Howard by over a straightaway.

Expect both drivers to bring their best to the historic half-mile on Saturday as they fight for the division crown.

Thad Moffitt, grandson of NASCAR’S “King” Richard Petty, scored his first ever stock car win at Anderson in the SELLM Daytona1 Challenger Division race, holding off a determined Anthony Miller, who rebounded from an early-race incident with virtually no front-end sheet metal on his Orion Motorsports No. 32 to challenge Moffitt’s No. 46 for the win before Moffitt pulled away at the end.

Moffitt sits atop the Challenger points standings and would like to add a win at Greenville-Pickens to his accomplishments in his rookie year. Miller already has a series’ win at the track and will be looking to make it two on Saturday.

Weekly NASCAR Whelen All-American Series points are in effect for all local track divisions this Saturday with only this weekend and next Saturday’s “Championship Night” to gain positions in the standings, so the racing should be hot and heavy in all classes as the drivers jockey for every spot they can muster.

Gates open at 4pm and racing gets underway at 7:30pm.  Admission is just $15 for adults for the seven main event program.  Students aged 9 to 11 get in for $5 and kids 8 and under are free with a paid adult.
