“Clyde 240 Tower Tavern” to Offer Talladega Superspeedway Fans Taste of Their Famous Alabama Whiskey

In an effort to continue the long standing tradition of bringing the best in southern hospitality to the great fans of Talladega Superspeedway, the track is announcing the addition of the “Clyde 240 Tavern” that is sure to keep masses thirst’s quenched and coming back for more.

“Clyde 240 Tower Tavern” will be located behind Section M in the Tri-Oval Tower and will be open to all Tower ticket holders starting at 8 am each event day during the tripleheader weekend (April 29-May 1), featuring the GEICO 500.

The delicious drink menu will include specialty concoctions featuring Clyde May’s Alabama Style Whiskey like the “Alabama Mule”, “The Clyde 240”, “May’s & Mello”, “Alabama Pride”, and “Clyde and Coke” – each so delectable many will wonder where Clyde’s has been their entire life. Other drink options are also available at the new Tower Tavern as well. Miller, Coors, and Budweiser beers will be available, as well as a variety of other mixed drinks.

“The partnership with Talladega Superspeedway is particularly resonant for Clyde May’s, because we have a similar origin,” said Roy Danis, chief executive officer, Conecuh Ridge Distillers. “Stock car racing was invented by moonshine runners who used fast cars to escape the law. Clyde May himself was an Alabama farmer and a moonshiner who dodged the law himself a few times. We are now the Official State Spirit of Alabama, and Talladega is arguably the most famous venue in the state, so a partnership like this just made sense.”

In addition to a variety of concession stands on the property, other refreshment areas like The Saloon Bar, Bama Bier Garden, featuring flavors from Back Forty Beer Company, and Bootlegger Draft and Cocktail Bar, can be found in the Fan Zone, which is also home to several fan-friendly displays and activities. In addition, The Miller Lite Pavilion and Busch Port-a-Bar will be going ‘full throttle’, located in the infield. At the Saturday Night Concert, featuring Big and Rich, Cowboy Troy, and Eric Lee Beddingfield, fans will have the opportunity to try both the Budweiser Port-a-Bar and the Miller Lite Pavilion.

The anticipated weekend kicks off on Friday, April 29, with practice sessions for the Sparks Energy 300 for the NASCAR XFINITY Series and GEICO 500, as well as practice, qualifying and the drop of the green flag for the General Tire 200 ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards at 5 p.m. CDT. Saturday’s schedule includes qualifying for the GEICO 500 as well as time trials and the start of the Sparks Energy 300 at 2 p.m. CDT. Later that evening, Big & Rich featuring Cowboy Troy, will headline the traditional Infield Concert. Admission is free with a GEICO 500 ticket. The GEICO 500 race Sunday is set for a 12:00 p.m. (CDT) start.
