Travis Kvapil Returns To NASCAR XFINITY Series Competition At Richmond

Officials from Rick Ware Racing (RWR) and B.J. McLeod Motorsports (BJMM) officially announced today that former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) champion Travis Kvapil will return to XFINITY Series competition in Saturday afternoon’s ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.

Kvapil will pilot the No. 15 Ford Mustang in his first XFINITY Series race since 2009. His much-anticipated series return will be backed by his longtime supporters, CorvetteParts.net and Keen Parts. The Milton, Wisconsin native has 16 starts at RIR in NASCAR’s pinnacle level of Sprint Cup competition.

Veteran industry crew chief Jason Houghtaling will call the shots for the No. 15 CorvetteParts.net / Keen Parts Ford Mustang. Additionally, Lilly Trucking and Carport Empire will serve as associate marketing partners this weekend.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back in a XFINITY Series car this weekend,” said Kvapil who plans to make his sixth career XFINITY Series start this weekend. “I appreciate the opportunity that Rick Ware and B.J. McLeod are giving me and with the support of CorvetteParts.net and Keen Parts, I’m hoping for a good solid run.”

Teresa Keen, owner of Keen Parts is excited to maintain a relationship with Kvapil, while expanding their horizons by pairing with RWR and BJMM this weekend.

“Travis has always been a great ambassador for our brand for a long time and we take pride in being a part of his XFINITY Series return,” she said. “Our customers and vendors have always supported Travis and we’re not only thankful to him for what he’s done, but thanks to Rick Ware Racing and B.J. McLeod Motorsports for welcoming us to their family.”

McLeod says it’s a great opportunity for both organizations to have the opportunity to work with Kvapil, who has heaps of experience at the 0.75-mile paved oval.

“We’re thankful for this opportunity to work with Travis,” said McLeod, who drives the No. 78 Main Gate Ford Mustang full time. “With both teams continuing to work hard to be better and better on the track with every passing race, working with someone like Travis who has a massive amount of experience can be something that we can lean on for not only this weekend, but hopefully moving forward too.”
