Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell Takes Part in Nasdaq Stock Market Opening Bell Ceremony

Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell joined Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III and Dan Draper, Global Head of Invesco PowerShares in ringing the Nasdaq Stock Market Opening Bell this morning.

The opportunity came as part of the partnership between the speedway and PowerShares QQQ, The Official Investment Company of Martinsville Speedway.

“It was thrilling to be a part of the opening bell ceremony this morning,” Campbell said. “It was an honor to join Dan and Joie and see the excitement of the market opening. This was certainly a fun and unique way to kick off a great partnership between Investco Powershares, Daytona International Speedway and Martinsville Speedway.”

PowerShares QQQ, which has also partnered with Daytona International Speedway as the title sponsor for the NASCAR XFINITY Series season opening race, the PowerShares QQQ 300, is looking forward to being a part of NASCAR and Martinsville Speedway.

“Today’s bell ringing was an exciting moment in PowerShares QQQ partnerships with Daytona International and Martinsville Speedways,” said Draper. “We see this as a natural partnership, because the principles of speed, efficiency and performance are core to ETFs as an investment vehicle and they are of course critical for success in NASCAR as well.”

The multi-year partnership between Martinsville Speedway and PowerShares QQQ started this year.
