Dover Motor Speedway’s 10 campgrounds started welcoming guests on Wednesday as the Monster Mile prepares to host America’s best drivers for the 106th time during its April 26-28 NASCAR tripleheader weekend.
Six Monster Mile campgrounds are sold out ahead of the weekend activities, which begin Thursday outside the grandstands with the opening of the WHITE LIGHTNING Bar + Arcade area near the Monster Monument.
The centerpiece of the on-track action is the Würth 400 NASCAR Cup Series race (2 p.m., FS1, PRN, SiriusXM) on Sunday, April 28, the 106th NASCAR Cup Series race in Dover’s history, which dates to 1969.
Dover Motor Speedway’s latest NASCAR tripleheader weekend has attracted fans from 48 states (plus Washington, D.C.) as well as the following countries/territories: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Kazakhstan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
This weekend also marks the debut of Dover Motor Speedway’s improved and streamlined security and admission perimeters, allowing easier guest entry into the facility. The highlights include:
- Security Screening Perimeter: Eight new security screening locations, including outside popular locations such as the Fan Zone and the Monster Monument, allow for swifter security checks. No ticket is required to enter these areas.
- Admission Scanning Gates: All gate numbers remain the same. However, Gates 1, 2, 3 and 19/20 are extended further away from the grandstands, creating a new concourse area with diverse food selections and more entertainment options.
- Suite Gate: Dedicated exclusively for Suite guests, a new admission area between Gates 1 & 2 allows you to collect your wristband for elevator access and enter the suites more efficiently.
“This is the most exhilarating time of year for our fans and our staff,” said Mike Tatoian, Dover Motor Speedway’s president and general manager. “All year long our team has been working towards this weekend’s events while our fans are looking forward to another great show at the Monster Mile. It’s great to see our campers begin to arrive to their lots and we can’t wait to get started with all the fun and excitement.”
