Be Part of the Action – Volunteer!

With the 2014 season under way at Watkins Glen International, the historic race track still has volunteer opportunities for this season’s events. The Glen is currently looking for volunteers for Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen (June 26-29), Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese (July 11-13), and Cheez-It™ 355 at The Glen(August 7-10). WGI donates to each non-profit group or charitable organization in acknowledgement for volunteering their time and energy.

The Corning Lions Club has been a long-time volunteer organization with Watkins Glen International.

“We appreciate the opportunity to be part of the largest sporting event in the area. Helping to provide hospitality for the guests of The Glen gives The Corning Lions a chance to fulfill our motto ‘We Serve.’” stated The Corning Lions club regarding their continued relationship with The Glen. “The funds WGI donated to our community service account allows The Corning Lions Club to be many times more effective fulfilling its mission of service to our less fortunate neighbors who are pledged to serve.”

In 2013, Watkins Glen International donated approximately $50,000 to organizations who volunteered at one of the season’s many events. Volunteers are still needed to assist the ticketing department during this year’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, Finger Lakes Wine Festival and Cheez-It™ 355 at The Glen. Volunteers are also needed to serve as ushers for grandstands during Cheez-It™ 355 at The Glen.

If your non-profit group or organization is interested in volunteering during any or all of the 2014 event weekends applications are available online and can be sent via email to Marianne Shoemaker at [email protected] or by mail to WGI Guest Services, P.O. Box 500, Watkins Glen, NY 14891.
