ARCA: S’loonshine 98.9 Race Preview

The ARCA Racing Series will invade the Kansas Speedway on Friday for the final time of the 2015 season. The 1.5-mile oval will serve as the 20th stop on the series tour in 2015. Spencer Gallagher comes into the weekend as the defending race winner and is not entered to run.

A total of 35 drivers are entered for the Full Throttle S’loonshine 98.9 event. Some of these include Dick Doheny, Brandon Jones, Richard Hauck, Darrell Basham, Ryan Reed, Wayne Edwards, Daniel Suarez, David Levine, Mason Mitchell, John Wes Townley and Travis Braden. No drivers will be going home following qualifying on Friday afternoon.

Grant Enfinger will secure the 2015 ARCA Racing championship when he takes the green flag in his No. 23 Champion Power Equipment Chevrolet. Enfinger, a native of Alabama, comes into the weekend leading the series standings by 320 points over Josh Williams and will capture his first championship in the series. Reigning Rookie of the Year winner Austin Wayne Self sits 380 points behind the leader in third. Tom Hessert and David Levine round out the top five.
The 2015 SCOTT Rookie of the Year award is still up for grabs. Kyle Weatherman enters the weekend ahead by two points over David Levine with one race to settle it out. Weatherman has momentum coming into the weekend as he ended testing last month as the fastest driver. Sarah Cornett-Ching, Brandon Jones and Blake Jones round out the top five.

Sarah Cornett-Ching comes into the weekend looking to finish twelve positions ahead of Bo LeMastus when the checkered flag waves. Ching would then tie Shawna Robinson as the highest finishing female in the ARCA Racing Series point standings since 2000. Cornett-Ching comes into the weekend with five top 10 finishes and continues to search for her first career ARCA win.

The Full Throttle S’loonshine 98.9 will air live on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports Go at 8:30 p.m. ET. Fans can also follow live coverage of the race on ARCARacing.com with timing and scoring.
