ARCA: Enfinger Captures Lucas Oil 200 Victory at Daytona

The ARCA Racing Series took over the Daytona International Speedway on Saturday afternoon for the Lucas Oil 200 presented by AutoZone. A total of 40 cars took the green flag as Mark Thompson became the oldest driver to score a pole in the series history.

After 80-laps of hard racing, Grant Enfinger found himself celebrating in victory lane at the Daytona International Speedway for the second consecutive year. Enfinger, driving the No. 23 Alamo Rent-A-Car Chevrolet for GMS Racing, started the event from the 13th position. The 30-year old driver captured his ninth victory in the series.

Making his second career start in the ARCA Racing Series, Daniel Suarez brought home the runner-up spot. Suarez stayed up-front all afternoon despite not leading a lap in his No. 15 Venturini Motorsports Toyota. The second-place finish marks his best since bringing home fifth last season at the Kentucky Speedway.

Brett Hudson, who made his 32nd career ARCA start on Saturday, will go home with his best finish in the series. Driving for his own racing team, Hudson managed to bring home a third-place finish after starting the day from fourth. The last time he brought home a top-five finish was back in 2011 at the Talladega Superspeedway.

Three cautions slowed the event throughout the day with one of those involving three cars over in turn-three. The lap 52 accident ended the day for Bobby Gerhart, Buster Graham and Leilani Munter. Graham told MRN after the wreck that he felt it was caused by drivers not holding their lines. All drivers walked away unharmed.

The next stop for the ARCA Racing Series will be at the Mobile International Speedway for the ARCA Mobile 200 on March 14th. Fans can follow live radio coverage of the event on ARCARacing.com.
