RY-45 Dominates at Golden Isles

The RY 45 built by Andy Durham Racing Engines has emerged from the winter season and captured four of six podium positions at Golden Isles Speedway in New Brunswick, GA on Friday night. The RY 45 designed by Roush Yates swept the competition during the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series event with Earl Pearson Jr., Jared Landers, and Scott Bloomquist making up the top 3.

After having a stout performance Friday night, Pearson Jr. and the RY 45 finished runner up with Bloomquist placing fourth Saturday night. “It really says a lot about the design and engineering that went into this engine. It’s less than a year old and it’s already had much success. Doug Yates and the team at Roush Yates have really put together strong engine components” stated Andy Durham.

Pearson Jr. and Landers are both new drivers sporting the RY 45 engine package for 2015 and showed how impressive the engine package truly is. In the 1-2-3 finish Pearson Jr., Landers, and Bloomquist passed a combined total of 21 cars in the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing. This win marks Pearson’s Jr’s 29th Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series victory in the presence of his hometown natives. “Black Diamond Race Cars by Ronnie Stuckey and Andy Durham Racing Engines combination is going to be really good this year” said Pearson Jr. in Victory Lane.

The win came as Pearson Jr. reunited with Dunn Benson Ford Motorsports. Team owners Carlton and Kemp Lamm have won three consecutive Championships in the past with Pearson Jr. Kemp Lamm was excited stating “We are tickled to be a part of such a great team of people. After the 2004-2006 championships we never lost our relationship with Earl and he is like family to us. Andy and Roush Yates have done a great job and the engine temperature and performance was spot on. Chad Elliot and Kendall Griffin of Roush Yates provided excellent support at the track and were a big help in contributing to the win.”

After the opening weekend Andy Durham Racing Engines and the RY 45 have claimed the top 2 spots in points with Pearson Jr. leading the way and Bloomquist second. If Golden Isles was any indication of what the rest of 2015 holds, the battle of the RY 45’s will be a force to be reckoned with.
