Raising the Bar … Daniel Dye enters Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) on the strength of his best-career short track finish from a week ago at North Wilkesboro Speedway, and looks reach another career-high mark on Friday evening. The Floridian tied his career-best finish of sixth at Texas Motor Speedway in April, a sister track to CMS, and is focused on elevating that mark this week. The driver of the No. 43 Champion Container Chevrolet Silverado RST has been one to watch this season as he has earned track-best finishes at seven of the 10 races. He currently sits in 12th position for the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) points standings through 10 events.

Making the Push… Dye has continued his pursuit for the NCTS playoff cut line. He has totaled four top-10 results this season and an average finish of 15.5, which is on pace to be nearly five positions better than his rookie season. The race to the cut line is getting tighter with only 24 points separating positions nine through 12 in the standings. On top of Dye’s 20 stage points this season, he has displayed his consistency to complete races. Since a last lap incident in the first race of the season, Dye has finished the last nine consecutive races and has finished ninth or better in three of the last four races.

1.5-Mile Tracks … Dye has earned three of his four top-10 finishes at 1.5-mile venues this year. His average start at 1.5-mile ovals is 6.2 and earned his first-career pole award at Atlanta Motor Speedway in February. His aforementioned career-best finish at TMS was followed up by a ninth-place result at Kansas Speedway, prompting his first career back-to-back top-10 results.

Tune In … All on-track activity will be live on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) beginning with practice and qualifying at 1:30 p.m. ET Friday afternoon. Daniel Dye Quote:

On his outlook for Charlotte:

“These mile-and-a-half tracks have been good to our Champion Container team this year. We’ve qualified and raced well at most of them, especially Texas and Kansas over the last few weeks. We’ve made a lot of strides so far this year as a team and that has given us a lot of confidence as we’re trying to make the playoffs. Hopefully we can have another strong run on Friday and can gain some points on the cut line.”
