NASCAR Nationwide Series Car to Honor General Sadler with Special Colors

Tonight’s running of the Dollar General 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race will feature a very special paint scheme honoring Speedway Children’s Charities national executive director, retired U.S. Air Force Major General Tom Sadler. The car honoring Gen. Sadler is the No. 08 Ford of Kyle Fowler.

Speedway Children’s Charities surprised Gen. Sadler on Wednesday when it unveiled the car, which is black and features the SCC logo and “In Honor of General Sadler” graphics on the hood. The Ford also has pink flames running down the side as part of Charlotte Motor Speedway’s “Pink Out” to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer.

“I can’t say enough about General Sadler,” said Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway. “We have so many children out there and so many kids that rely on Speedway Children’s Charities every year. It’s a real privilege for us to be a part of helping children in need.”

General Sadler has served as executive director of SCC since 1990. Under his leadership, the organization raises funds for more than 400 organizations nationwide each year and has raised more than $47 million.
