As a 30-year veteran of NASCAR competition, Mark Smith knows engines. Smith is the owner of Pro Motor Engines (PME), a leading builder of race engines for all three NASCAR series, and owner of the TriStar Motorsports NASCAR Nationwide Series team.
Building and preparing high performance racing engines is Smith’s business and key to his team’s success. Starting this season, TriStar has chosen G-OIL, the world’s first and only American Petroleum Institute (API) and USDA BioPreferred® certified bio-based full synthetic motor oil for all four of his 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series cars.
“We put G-OIL to the test on our PME dynos and on the track,” said Smith. “We saw that running our NASCAR engines on G-OIL produced more power and reduced engine wear in back-to-back tests against the top competitors.”
Smith’s engines have won three NASCAR Truck Series championships (2003, 2004, and 2009). He also received the prestigious MAHLE Clevite Engine Builder of the Year award in both 2008 and 2009 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competition.
