Drew Herring Earns 19th Place Finish in Las Vegas

Drew Herring returned to JGL Racing for his first of two consecutive starts on Saturday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Benson, North Carolina native would battle a tight race car as he steered the No.24 Young Guns Toyota to a well-earned 19th place finish in the running of the Boyd Gaming 300.
“This was definitely not the weekend we were hoping for but it wasn’t for lack of effort from everyone at JGL Racing,” said Herring.  “Everyone on the 24 team worked hard all weekend but we just missed it.  It’s a learning process with these new cars and new package we are racing with.  I look forward to applying what we learned this weekend and having the opportunity to improve as we turn our attention to Phoenix.”
Drew would start the 200-lap event from the 22nd position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day.  Right from the beginning Herring would start to slide back through the field as he fought a tight handling condition on the No. 24 Young Guns Toyota.  As the race came to the end of its first two segments, Drew and the No. 24 team would sit just inside the top-25.
The second half of the 300-mile event would find Herring battle hard while the JGL Racing crew attempted to improve their handling package with adjustments on pit road.  With a never give up attitude, Drew and the No. 24 Young Guns Toyota would successfully get back on the lead lap towards the end – allowing for a late charge inside the top-20.
“I just really appreciate the opportunity to drive this No. 24 Toyota again and the solid effort everyone puts behind it,” added Drew.  “We are all focused on learning more of what we need to do on these cars and get the finish we all want this coming weekend in Phoenix.”
The JGL Racing team will next head to Phoenix International Raceway for the running of the DC Solar 200 with Drew Herring climbing behind the wheel of the No. 24 Young Guns Toyota for the second straight week.  The fourth race of the NASCAR XFINITY Series season will be Saturday March 18th and can be seen LIVE on FOX Sports 1 at 4:00 pm ET.  It can also be heard on Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM Channel 90.
