Garrett Smithley finished 26th Sunday in the Drive Sober 200 Xfinity Series race at Dover International Speedway.
Smithley, driving the Heroes Haven Chevrolet, started 33rd and moved into the 20s quickly, racing there much of the day.
“Dover is a fast track, and you have to pay attention to where you are and what’s going on around you at every moment,” Smithley said. “We made some gains during the day, but we couldn’t crack the top 20. We’ll be better here the next time around.”
Smithley stayed 18th in Xfinity driver points.
