Burton Looks to Build Success at Talladega

In just his third start at NASCAR’s biggest track, Jeb Burton and the No. 43 J. Streicher team continue to work each week toward the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase. Following a 19th-place finish at Richmond last weekend, Burton moved up one spot in the Championship Points Standings, now sitting in 11th place. The Top-12 drivers following the first 26 races are eligible to compete for the Championship in the Chase elimination-style playoff format.

Burton heads to Talladega with just two starts in the Camping World Truck Series under his belt. In his first start in 2013 in the Truck Series, Burton started on the pole and finished 18th. He improved his finishing position the next year, finishing 16th. This will be Burton’s first race in the XFINITY Series at the 2.66-mile Superspeedway.
“While both Talladega and Daytona are Superspeedways, the two tracks are also very different. In Talladega, you have more room with the wider track, creating more racing space and more lines to run. I raced at Talladega twice in the Truck Series with shots to win on the last lap, but ended up finishing in the Top-20. I’ve had good success and feel confident heading in there. Our main goal is to miss the big wreck and survive to bring home a clean No. 43 J. Streicher Ford Mustang. I’ve been watching a lot of film from previous races in the XFINITY Series at Talladega to prepare. After the weekend last week, we’re looking forward to getting to Talladega and putting Richmond in the rearview mirror.”
