Preece scores 18th at Las Vegas

Ryan Preece rallied from early-race trouble to finish 18th in Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 Xfinity Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The race’s first caution appeared on lap three when Preece, Corey LaJoie and Jeb Burton were involved in an incident on the frontstretch.

Preece bounced back to race as high as 17th in his Las Vegas debut.

He gained three spots in the Xfinity driver standings to 18th.

“A good run for us,” Preece said. “We got a good qualifying run and then made the car better and raced pretty well all day. We’re ready to take the next step.”
