Garrett Smithley qualified 25th and ran a strong race to finish 24th in Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 Xfinity Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Smithley scored a 24th-place run for the second straight week and gained two positions in Xfinity driver points to 22nd.
He raced as high as 21st on the fast LVMS track Saturday.
“We had a pretty good car and a chance to run some fast laps,” Smithley said. “I feel like we’re making progress week to week. The more seat time I can get, the better.”
