Chastain 28th in Atlanta

Ross Chastain finished 28th Saturday in the Heads Up Georgia 250, the second race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

Chastain qualified 28th and raced as high as 17th before settling into the 20s for the balance of the 163-lap race.

“It’s not where we wanted to finish, but we brought it home,” Chastain said. “We’ll work toward the next race and gain from here.”

Chastain, in his second full season driving the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet, is 16th in Xfinity points.

Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch won Saturday’s race, leading 119 laps. Kyle Larson was second. Elliott Sadler, who was ninth Saturday, leads the series point standings.

The next Xfinity race is March 5 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
