Rhodes 27th in Texas debut

Rookie Harrison Rhodes scored a 27th-place finish Friday night in his first race at Texas Motor Speedway – the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300.

Rhodes qualified 26th.

“It wasn’t quite the finish we were looking for, but it was good to finish the race and learn all we could,” said Rhodes, running the full Xfinity Series for the first time. “We’ve got great notes from a long night at the track, and we’ll roll on from here.”

Newcomer Erik Jones won the race, his first Xfinity victory. Ty Dillon finished 12th and stayed in first in the point race.
