Harrison Rhodes gained spots throughout the race and finished 25th in Saturday’s Drive4Clots.com 300 Xfinity Series race at Auto Club Speedway.
Rhodes, racing at the tough two-mile track for the first time, qualified 32nd but had moved into the top 25 by the race’s halfway point.
“We got in a bunch of laps and brought it home clean,” Rhodes said. “The more I can race, the more I learn. We want to get better finishes, but this was a great learning experience.”
The finish bumped Rhodes, driving the G&K Services Chevrolet, forward a spot to 22nd in the Xfinity driver standings.
Sprint Cup invader Kevin Harvick won the race, and Ty Dillon, who finished 14th, kept the series point lead.
