Cassill 34th at Kansas

Landon Cassill’s hopes of scoring a strong run in Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300 ended 61 laps into the 200-lap race when he parked his AllDayParts.com Chevrolet with engine trouble.

Cassill finished 34th after a broken rod sidelined his JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet.

“It’s a tough deal,” Cassill said. “We wanted to do much better here and thought we had a pretty good car after qualifying 19th. We’ll move on to Charlotte.”

Four races remain on the Nationwide Series schedule. After Charlotte, the tour races at Texas, Phoenix and Homestead, Fla.

Sprint Cup invader Kyle Busch won Saturday’s race. Chase Elliott kept the series point lead.
