After a tough start, Jeffrey Earnhardt pushed on to a 32nd-place finish in Saturday’s Drive To Stop Diabetes 300 Nationwide Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Earnhardt qualified 17th and appeared to have a good car for the 300-lap race, the fourth event of the Nationwide season. But Earnhardt lost control in tight racing with Elliott Sadler on the race’s fifth lap and banged into the second-turn wall, damaging the car.
After dropping behind the wall for extensive repairs by the Flex Seal Chevrolet crew, Earnhardt returned to the track 33 laps down.
Although wrestling with a damaged car, Earnhardt finished 249 laps, a tough task on a fast, tight race track.
Earnhardt’s team car, driven by Landon Cassill, finished 12th.
