Martins Motorsports Set to Debut Nationwide Team at Daytona International Speedway

The Nationwide Series®, NASCAR®’s second biggest stage, is welcoming an exciting team into the fold for the 2014 season. Martins Motorsports, based in Nashville, TN, will be a rare full-time participant in the entire 33-race Nationwide Series® schedule.

One of the drivers for Martins Motorsports will be a competitor lauded by his peers as one of the most underrated, talented drivers in the sport, Willie Allen.

Allen, from Bon Aqua, Tennessee, burst onto the NASCAR® scene in 2007 by driving the No. 13 ThorSport Racing truck to a 15th place position in the Camping World Truck Series® standings and winning the Rookie of the Year® award.  Allen turned the heads of peers and media alike by amassing 30 laps led and over $322,000 in earnings during his first full season in the top ranks of NASCAR®.

“Willie Allen is a highly thought-of talent in the NASCAR® community,” stated Standing Ovation’s Monty Bailey, who has been involved in NASCAR® for over a decade. “His peers within the NASCAR community have been stating for some time now that all he needs is one more shot in a full-time ride to make his splash. Martins Motorsports is that chance, and Willie will do great things this season on the track.”

Joining forces with Allen will be another rising talent in the sport of NASCAR®, Tommy Joe Martins.

Martins, like Allen, is a driver with experience in the top ranks of NASCAR®, competing in the Camping World Truck Series® in 2009 and 2011.

“The NASCAR® Nationwide Series is a springboard for success for drivers, teams, and sponsors alike,” said Tommy Joe Martins. “My family and I have worked long hours to reach the top levels of this sport, and it is a privilege to join the best drivers in the world in the Nationwide Series.”

“We are proud to support two promising drivers who will finally get their deserved shot at running a full-time Nationwide Series schedule,” said Standing Ovation LLC’s Monty Bailey. “These are two hungry competitors, and both will be a factor in the 2014 Owner Points. Not only will they be a factor, we will see them up front often this year.”
