Harr returns to iWorld Connect Chevrolet

After driving the iWorld Connect Chevrolet in three Nationwide Series races for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller early in the season, Daryl Harr will return to the cockpit for Saturday’s DuPont Pioneer 250 at Iowa Speedway.

Harr drove the No. 4 Chevy at Phoenix, Las Vegas and Auto Club Speedway near the start of the season, scoring a top finish of 28th.

Harr, a veteran of the K&N Pro Series West who has raced in three Nationwide events at Iowa, said he’s looking forward to returning to the seven-eighths-mile track.

“It’s a tougher track for me,” Harr said. “I like the big, fast momentum tracks, and I really like the short-track racing I’ve been doing so long. I like places like Las Vegas and California that are really fast and you have to really haul a car down in the turns. Of course, I love the beating and banging of short tracks.

“Iowa sort of combines the two. I always feel like I want to drive the car harder, but then you get in the corner and you really have to muscle the car to get around. I find that Iowa is one that kind of eludes me once in a while. But we’re coming with better setups and better equipment. That might just make a difference.”

Harr said he is pleased to step into the seat normally held by Landon Cassill. “I’m really excited to be in the car after Landon has been working on the team for so long,” he said. “He’s been showing what the potential is. I’m kind of hoping I can live up to it.”
