Sprints and Stocks at Grandview Saturday, Von Dohren and Hirthler Top NASCAR Points

Craig Von Dohren continues in his effort to become the first 11-time T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 champion at Grandview Speedway. The Oley, PA racer sits on top of the latest point standings with 2512 counters. And he has been to victory lane three times out of the 10 point events run so far this season.

Staying close to Von Dohren in the point battle is five time champion Duane Howard. The Oley, PA racer has visited victory lane twice and has 2350 tallies good enough for second place.

Third spot is held by Grandview point chase newcomer Rick Laubach (Hellertown, PA). He has not cracked victory lane but he has earned 2299 points with consistent top finishes. Brett Kressley with 2120 points holds fourth followed by Jared Umbenhauer 2117.

Past champion Brian Hirthler of Green Lane, PA has moved back in front of the T.P.Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman standings with 1999 points and two victories. Close behind is Brad Grim, Coplay, PA, with 1973 counters. In third is two feature winner Brad Brightbill who has tallied 1938 points followed by Kyle Lilick with 1699 points and Brad Arnold with 1647.

Ten events have been run in each division with 55 racers earning points with the Modifieds and 40 racers getting points in the Sportsman division.

Next on the Saturday night NASCAR schedule is a tripleheader show of T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds, T.P.Truck Equipment Sportsman and a second 2019 appearance for the Delaware Auto Exchange Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series. Heading up the list of entries for the Sprints will be Ricky Dieva, a recent feature winner, Tim Tanner, Rick Stief and a host of others. Racing on June 29 gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. Adult admission is $18, youngsters 6 through 11 pay just $5 and kids under 6 are admitted free. Fans are reminded to arrive early for the Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet. The session starts at 5 p.m. and will feature Sprint racer Ricky Dieva and Modified talent Louden Reimert.

PA Sprint Speed Week featuring 410 Sprints ($10,000 to win) and 358 Modifieds is on Tuesday, July 2. Start time is 7:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5 p.m.

Coming up on Saturday, July 6th is the annual Firecracker 40 which this year features the Sportsman with the feature winner walking off with $2,000. The 358 Modifieds will be the second part of the doubleheader Holiday show.
