The Bandit Big Rigs made their initial appearance back in August with a capacity crowd on hand and put on one of the most entertaining shows of the season. It was the first time on the historic half-mile for the rigs, and their drivers are all looking forward to their return.
The Mulligan Power Trucks have raced twice at the Speedway this year, with Tim Lollis and “The Young One” Luke Sorrow each winning a feature. A strong field of Trucks is expected to be on hand for their final run of the year, with a lot of buzz about racers already talking about competing in this class in 2017.
The Southeast Limited Late Models bring two divisions to the speedway, the Pro division and the Daytona1 Challenger division.
Local racer Luke Sorrow is currently tied with New England hotshoe Anthony Alfredo for the points lead in the Pro division, while first-year racer Brett Moffitt, the grandson of NASCAR’S “King” Richard Petty, is leading the points in the Challenger class.
The race on the 22nd will be pivotal for the series as only their season finale’ at Myrtle Beach Speedway November 11th and 12 will follow.
Two of the track’s most popular weekly divisions, the renegades and the four-cylinders, will also be on the card.
In addition, aspiring 13-year-old classic rock guitarist Stratton Wilson from New Orleans will make an appearance at the track to play the national anthem and serve as honorary starter as well.
Gates will open at 4pm. Racing starts at 7:30. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for students ages 9-11 and free for kids 8 and under with paid adult.
