Entertainment lineup announced for Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 weekend

A full lineup of race weekend entertainment has been announced for the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 at Phoenix International Raceway featuring theme nights at the Cantina with bands entertaining fans throughout the weekend.

Each night, the Cantina will be highlighted by a different theme for PIR fans to enjoy. Thursday, Nov. 12, will be Country Night at the Cantina with entertainment by Hillbilly Deluxe and Harry Luge Band. Appropriately, Friday the 13 will be Zombie Night at the Cantina with music from Badmotorfinger, while Saturday, Nov. 14 will be highlighted by METALHEAD and special musical guests for 80’s Night.

On Friday and Saturday night, the American Born Moonshine Bar will be open on the Cantina patio featuring specialty moonshine drinks.

Prior to the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 on Sunday, Nov. 15, powerhouse rock band Everclear will also be performing a free concert for any fan with a grandstand ticket. The group, who recently released their ninth studio album titled Black Is The New Black, will entertain fans in the midway area at 10:30 a.m. MST.

Famous for deconstructing popular music, DJ Michaelis will be back this fall to put his own twist on the traditional driver introductions. The West Coast DJ holds big room residences in cities around the world including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Moscow and Bali and has new Trap and Progressive House music released this year.  

Hillbilly Deluxe will officially kick off race weekend entertainment on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the Cantina. Harry Luge Band will hit the Cantina stage on Thursday from 9 – 11 p.m., and will return on Friday, Nov. 13 after the Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Fan Midway stage.

Taking the stage on Friday from 9 – 11 p.m. at the Cantina will be Badmotorfinger.  On Saturday, Nov. 14, concerts will begin at the Cantina at 7 p.m. with artists to include METALHEAD and other special musical guests.

Although the grandstands are sold out for Sunday’s race, race fans wishing to attend the final Eliminator race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup may still purchase general admission tickets to PIR’s Hillside area.
