Levy Restaurants unveil “Fire and Ice” food items for next week’s AAA Texas 500

Texas Motor Speedway and Levy Restaurants have once again captured their fans love of bacon with a unique combination of ‘Fire and Ice’ food items for the AAA Texas 500 NASCAR tripleheader weekend set for Nov. 5-8.

The next generation of the highly successful Hawg Heaven line ignites the “fire” with the Hawg Heaven Double Barrel Dawg and then cools things down with an icy treat – the Final Rocky Road-eoice cream sundae in tribute to retiring NASCAR icon Jeff Gordon. Both items will make their debut at during the AAA Texas 500 race week at Texas Motor Speedway.

The tradition of bacon-themed concession items continues with the Hawg Heaven Double Barrel Dawg. Following in the footsteps of the widely popular Hawg Heaven Queso Wing, Hawg Heaven Bacon Nachos, Hawg Heaven Bacon Cotton Candy and Shake ‘N Bacon Brew, this sandwich is all about bacon. The massive sandwich features two foot-long Texas Hot Links, custom made for Levy Restaurants by locally owned Syracuse Sausage in nearby Ponder, Texas, a jalapeno bacon and caramelized onion mix, bacon queso and topped with crunchy spicy pork rinds.

The bacon theme continues with a special tribute to Jeff Gordon’s final race at Texas Motor Speedway with the Final Rocky Road-eo Sundae. It is well known that the four-time Sprint Cup Series champion’s favorite ice cream is Rocky Road and its combination with bacon is sure to excite the tastebuds. The sundae features a Krispy Kreme maple bacon donut, two scoops of rocky road ice cream, hot fudge sauce infused with bacon, bacon whipped cream, honey roasted peanuts, chocolate chips, marshmallows and candied bacon. The two scoops of ice cream and four kinds of bacon are the perfect way to celebrate Gordon’s final race at Texas Motor Speedway.

“These two items take our Hawg Heaven brand to the next level and will be the perfect complement to each other on race weekend,” Levy Restaurants Executive Chef Lincoln Engstrom said. “There is nothing better than a little spice to start a meal and then finish it off with a cool treat. No one will be disappointed with either of these great items as the oversized sandwich is a meal in itself and the sundae is the perfect way to finish the meal off.”

The sandwich will sell for $11 while the sundae costs $10. Both will be available at the concession stand inside Gate 4 of the speedway.
