It’s one of the top questions being asked around the nation: “How do I get tickets to the Battle at Bristol?”
On Thursday, Sept. 10, Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) provided an answer to that popular topic, celebrating the year-out date to college football’s biggest ever game with a one day on-site sale for regional residents, as well as a month-long online public ticket lottery. Both the sale and the lottery will begin on Friday, Oct. 2, a date the speedway has named Battle Friday.
“We continue to see great interest in the game and there is high demand for tickets – that’s why we created Battle Friday – it gives us an opportunity to provide our local community a chance to get tickets,” said Jerry Caldwell, general manager of BMS. “We also want to provide others the ability to be a part of college football’s biggest ever game by introducing a Battle at Bristol ticket lottery.”
The one day on-site sale will take place at the Bristol Motor Speedway ticket offices Oct. 2 from 9 a.m.– 8 p.m. Available tickets are priced at $40, $50 and $80, plus tax. Each household has the opportunity to purchase up to four tickets. Payment in full is due at time of purchase. Actual seats will be allocated in early 2016.
That same day, the Battle at Bristol ticket lottery will go live at BattleAtBristoltix.com and run through Nov. 2. Fans will complete an application online to be entered into the lottery. Lottery applicants are able to request up to four tickets to the game.
Additionally, BMS confirmed existing customers who have placed deposits prior to Sept. 11 with the BMS ticket office are guaranteed seats to the game. These guests will have the opportunity to provide their preferences (including seat location, parking, camping, ADA needs and more) on the ticket order form to be mailed this fall.
The Battle at Bristol is expected to draw more than 150,000 fans when NASCAR’s iconic short track transforms into college football’s largest venue Sept. 10, 2016. Touted as a border battle between the University of Tennessee and rival Virginia Tech, the game is on track to crush the current NCAA single-game attendance record of 115,109 set in September 2013 at Michigan Stadium.
