Texas Motor Speedway will be ground zero for the April 8 total solar eclipse watch party hosted by Univision 23 Dallas.
Noticias 23 chief meteorologist Nelly Carreno and main anchor Angel Pedrero will be broadcasting live from outside the Li’l Texas Motor Speedway dirt track to provide expert commentary during the highly anticipated astronomical event of the year. The broadcast is scheduled to go live beginning at 11:00 a.m. and will conclude just after 2 p.m.
The event and parking are free to the public. Everyone in attendance will receive a pair of Univision 23 Dallas/Texas Motor Speedway co-branded glasses to safely watch the total solar eclipse. The next total solar eclipse visible from the contiguous United States is Aug. 23, 2044.
Those who attend the celestial event will also have the opportunity to walk the pit area of Li’l Texas Motor Speedway which will be hosting the first of four days of the third annual POWRi Micro Mania micro sprint car races.
POWRi Micro Mania is the second event of 10 days of racing at Texas Motor Speedway that begins April 5-6 with the POWRi Wildcard Shuffle wing sprint car races at the half-mile Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track. Micro Mania runs April 8-11 on the 1/5-mile Li’l Texas Motor Speedway dirt track, leading into three days of NASCAR competition on the 1.5-mile asphalt oval. The highly anticipated High Limit Racing sprint car series, co-owned by 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Kyle Larson, makes its Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track debut April 13 under the lights and the racing excitement concludes April 14 with the NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400.
The 2024 Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 NASCAR tripleheader weekend begins April 12 with the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series SpeedyCash.com 250 (7:30 p.m. CT on FS1, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90), continues with the April 13 NASCAR Xfinity Series Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 (12:30 p.m. CT on FS1, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90) and concludes with the April 14 NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 (2:30 p.m. CT on FS1, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90 and Lone Star 92.5 – local).
