Roa Finishes Fourth at Perris — Santa Maria This Saturday

Brody Roa drove his brilliant green #91R to a fourth-place finish in the 30-lap USAC/CRA main event last Saturday night at Perris Auto Speedway.  This Saturday, July 6, he will return to a track that has provided him with a lot of success in the last two seasons, the Santa Maria Raceway.

Roa, 28, started the night off with a time of 16.864 in qualifying on the Perris half-mile clay oval.  That lap was good enough for fourth quick time in the 24-car field.  It placed him on the inside of the “fast row,” (third row) for his 10-lap heat race.  The Garden Grove, California resident advanced to the fourth-place spot on lap two and took third on lap six.  He stayed third for the duration to book his ticket into the main event.

Going into the main, Roa had one win, one third place and a sixth in three races at the track affectionately known as “The PAS,” this year.  For the 30-lapper, he was starting on the inside of the second row.  Early on, he briefly ran as high as second before settling into fourth and that is where he stayed all the way to the checkered flag.

The fourth-place result was Roa’s 13th top-five finish in 16 sprint car starts in 2019.

This Saturday, the USAC/CRA Series heads to Santa Maria for the “Doug Fort Classic.”  It will be the first of two 2019 appearances at the Nipomo track for the series.  Roa goes into the race second in the championship point standings, only 20-markers out of first.  Over the past two years, Santa Maria has been one of the veteran racer’s best tracks.  In four appearances at the more than half-century old oval since the start of 2017, he has two wins, one second-place finish and a third.

Fans who would like to see Roa in action this week can find the Santa Maria Raceway at 1900 Hutton Road in Nipomo (93444).  The Spectator gates will open at 4:00 P.M., qualifying will be at 5:00 and the first race will take the green flag at 5:30.  The track website is https://santamariaraceway.com/ and the office phone number is (310) 493-4900.

After Santa Maria, Roa will have one more race in California – at Perris on July 13th – before heading to the Midwest for nine nights of racing starting at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway on July 17th.  He will then take on “Indiana Sprint Week” which runs from July 18th through the 27th.  For fans attending, be sure to stop by in the pits to get Roa’s autograph and to pick up a Brody Roa Racing shirt.

Colorful Brody Roa t-shirts are available now at the track or via mail.  If you cannot make it to a race and would like to order one, please use the following link https://www.brodyroa.com/?post_type=product.  You can see the design in one of the photos attached to this release.
