Venturini Motorsports Returns to Charlotte after ARCA’s 14-year absence; Michael Self, Leilani Münter, Natalie Decker and Brandon Lynn lead the way

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will make its highly anticipated return to Charlotte Motor Speedway for tomorrow night’s running of the General Tire 150. Thursday’s race will mark the series’ first appearance at Charlotte Motor Speedway since May 27, 2004.

Leading the hometown charge for Venturini Motorsports’ is Daytona winner Michael Self, driver of the No.15 Sinclair Oil Toyota. Set to make his fourth start on the season, Self has been the model of consistency earning three consecutive top-5 finishes starting with his season opening victory.

In his last series start at Talladega, the 28-year veteran scored his first career General Tire pole award and finished third. Paired with crew chief Kevin Reed, Self looks to continue his success tomorrow night under the lights at Charlotte.

After earning a career best eighth place finish in Dayton’s season opener, Leilani Münter looks to rebound from her last outing at Talladega where she finished 22nd. Münter, racing with a cause, will suit up and strap into her No.20 VeganStrong.com powered car for her third of eight starts this season.

As part of her season long effort, Leilani will share her Vegan Strong message by greeting fans in Charlotte’s fan zone throughout the ARCA/NASCAR weekend. Fans can meet Leilani and sample free vegan food (Impossible Burgers) Thursday 3-7:30pm, Saturday 9am-1pm and Sunday 10am-6:30pm.

Natalie Decker, coming off her seventh-place finish last weekend at Toledo, gears up for her Charlotte Motor Speedway track debut Thursday night. Decker, driver of the No.25 N29 – Yamaha Power Products Toyota, is sixth in the national driver points standings. Decker set the pace early on winning her first career General Tire Pole Award and finished fifth in the season opener at Daytona. Overall on the season the Wisconsin native has earned one top-5 and two top-10 finishes on the season.

Brandon Lynn returns to action behind the wheel of his No.55 Remodeez Toyota for his second start of the season. Lynn, 23, and a native of Penn Yann, NY, finished 7th last month at Talladega and hopes to build off his momentum. Since making his ARCA debut in 2015, Lynn has made nine series starts earing three top-10 finishes.

Practice for the General Tire 150 is Thursday, May 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. General Tire Pole Qualifying follows at 5 p.m. The General Tire 150 is live on FS1 at 9 p.m. Thursday night under the lights. All times are Eastern.
