Devin Dodson Chasing First NASCAR K&N Victory In Colorado Next Month

A month removed from his debut, hotshoe Devin Dodson will return to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West in the No. 7 Jefferson Pitts Racing Ford during the NAPA/Toyota 150 at Colorado National Speedway on Saturday, June 9th.

Dodson, 19, will be searching for his third straight lead lap finish and hope to continue his momentum wave in his first appearance at the 0.375-mile paved oval in Dacono, Co., which has hosted 15 previous K&N Pro Series events.

“I feel much more comfortable with these K&N Pro Series cars,” Dodson explained. “I’m extremely confident in the Jefferson Pitts Racing team and I feel like I have all the resources to go out there and do something special. I can’t thank everyone enough for this opportunity.”

Hailing from Ocean City, Md., a popular resort town on the Eastern Shore, the former dirt Modified standout Dodson traveled coast-to-coast to make his K&N Pro Series debut at Tucson Speedway in Arizona last month.

Finishing sixth and ninth at Tucson in the respective twin events, Dodson contended inside the top five throughout both races and impressed while competing against former series winners and champions.

“What an experience Arizona was,” Dodson said. “It was our first time in that car, our first time with Jefferson Pitts and our first time at Tucson … and we were right in contention. If it wasn’t for the unfortunate incident in the second race, we might have had something for them.”

Gathering confidence from those strong performances, the rookie is now feeling primed to bring home the hardware to his beach town after 150 miles in Colorado.

“I think the competition is definitely going to know we are there again,” he added. “I’ve been working hard and studying film to prep for this next race. Knowing that the equipment Jefferson Pitts brings to the track is top notch, I have all the confidence in the world that we can park this No. 7 in the winners circle.”

Like the entire NASCAR K&N Pro Series schedule, the NAPA/Toyota 150 at Colorado will be broadcasted on NBC Sports Network (an exact time and date is still to be determined).
