Jim Sauter, Jr. to Kick Off Season at Golden Sands Speedway

The 2017 Super Late Model racing season for Jim Sauter, Jr. and his Cole-Sauter Racing team will officially kick off on Saturday, April 22. Sauter is slated to pilot his Marion Cole owned ride in “The Thaw” at Golden Sands Speedway, a track that he claimed the Super Late Model championship at in 2013 and finished as the runner up in 2015.

“I’m excited to get back to Golden Sands and to get the 2017 season started”, noted Sauter.

“It’s always been a good track to me and I’m confident that we’ll run well and hopefully bring home a win for Marion.”

Speaking of Cole, the car that Sauter will compete in will have a brand new look and number for many events this season. Well, a new look for the car, yet a retro 70s and 80s trip back in time, as the scheme will resemble that of one that Marion fielded way back when. In tribute to that past success, Sauter will carry the number 20 and Marion’s old color scheme.

Sauter will still compete in his own #45 in select events this year.

“We’re all really excited about this paint scheme and number. We can’t wait for the fans to see it”, said Sauter.

The afternoon of circle track action will kick off at 2 PM. Visit www.gssraces.com for ticket prices and directions. Sauter’s entire 2017 racing schedule is receiving finishing touches and will be released soon.
