NWES Announces Pre-season Prologue At Franciacorta

Fans, media and drivers will have a new chance to experience the unique atmosphere of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series paddock! On March 3 the Autodromo di Franciacorta, the new Italian home of the NWES Semi Finals, will host the 2017 season Prologue together with a presentation of the Season and the September 16-17 NWES event.

NASCAR Whelen Euro Series teams and drivers will be invited to test on track from 9:00 to 16:00 in preparation of the 2017 season, turning the first laps on the 2.519 km (1.57 mi), 13-turn Italian circuit, while the NWES organization will held tests for new drivers willing to discover the Series and its roaring 450hp V8 machines.

As for every NASCAR Whelen Euro Series event, the paddock will be open for the fans, who will have the chance to meet teams and drivers and have a taste of the unique atmosphere they will find in the American NASCAR Weekend Semi Finals on September 16-17.

The 2017 Season as well as the new Italian event will be presented in a press conference at 11:00 in the track’s Congress Room, after which media representatives will have the chance to experience the thunder of NWES cars from inside the cockpit.

“The Prologue gives us the perfect chance to present the American NASCAR Weekend and give the fans a taste of the great show they will see in September,” said Francesco Tartamella, Sporting Director of the Autodromo di Franciacorta. “Hosting the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Semi Finals is a unique opportunity and we are working hard to put together an event that will thrill the fans with all sorts of American-themed entertainment.”

After the March 3 Prologue, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will be back in action on April 8-9 for the 2017 season opener inf Valencia, Spain.
