Gus Dean Ready for First 1.5-Mile Start at Kentucky Speedway With Mason Mitchell Motorsports

Already a winner this season in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Talladega Superspeedway, Gus Dean is set to make his 1.5-mile debut Friday night at the newly repaved Kentucky Speedway with Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM).

Dean will be back behind the No. 98 GREE / Bosch Chevrolet for MMM. The race will mark the sixth start for the Bluffton, South Carolina native. In those starts, Dean has earned one win (Talladega), one top-five and three top-10 finishes.

“I’m excited to be back with Mason Mitchell Motorsports and to have the support of GREE and Bosch for Kentucky Speedway,” said Dean.

“Mason (Mitchell) seems confident that we’re going to be good at the test. He says he has a lot of ideas and is very confident about the car we are bringing.”

“Even though I was on the track last month at Pocono, it feels like an eternity,” added Dean. “We’ve had a great year and even though Pocono didn’t turn out like we liked, we still were able to overcome our hiccups and finish inside the top-15. Next Friday night, we want to get ourselves another win and see if that’s enough to sail us into Kansas to run in the season finale.”

Dean and MMM will participate Tuesday in the open test session in preparation for Friday evenings Crosley 150.

Dean raced with the CARS Super Late Model Tour this past weekend at the Myrtle Beach Speedway earning a runner-up finish in the 100 lap event.

Chassis Information: Dean will pilot chassis No. 588 out of the MMM stable. Brent Sherman raced the chassis to a ninth place finish last week at Chicagoland Speedway The chassis has 21 starts since 2014, earning one win (Winchester 2015), seven top-fives and 13 top-10 finishes.
