Dalton Sargeant Ready to Break Through at Toledo

Rookie driver Dalton Sargeant will make his third-career start this weekend in the 75th annual Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway.

Although new to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, Sargeant is already known throughout racing and is a talented up and coming driver determined to make his mark driving the No.55 Toyota Racing Development – Windows 10 Camry with Venturini Motorsports.

Sargeant, off to an impressive start in his young ARCA career, has already earned a third and sixth place finish in his first two series starts at Salem Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway respectively.

Racing a 15-event schedule in 2016, Sargeant focuses his attention to the ultra-quick Toledo Speedway for his first ever attempted on the half-mile paved Ohio oval.

“We’ve started the season-off in good shape and have been competitive each time out,” says Sargeant. “Working with Billy (Venturini) and all the guys at Venturini Motorsports has been a real good experience. I’ve been able to adapt really well and gain some great experience early on. My confidence is running high and I have great team support. I’m looking at Toledo as a chance to improve and hopefully compete for a win.”

Taking advantage of the time off between events, Sargeant headed to Virginia last week for a one-day test session at Motor Mile Speedway in preparation for Sunday’s 200-lap event at Toledo.

“We had a great test and I feel well prepared for Toledo. Even with it being my first time at the track I’m confident in the team and my ability to adapt quickly. Honestly, I’m really comfortable in the car and not intimated at all going to a new track – my focus is mainly set on racing door-to-door against a solid field of competitors which the series attracts each week, not to mention battling my teammates (Tom Hessert and Cole Williams).”
