Vict Motorsport Makes NASCAR Debut

The Italian presence in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series will further expand in Valencia on April 23-24, when Vict Motorsport will make its NASCAR debut with the #8 Ford Mustang. The red beast will be driven by team owner Dario Caso and Arianna Casoli.

53-year-old Caso has a vast experience in racing, especially GT racing, having finished second in the European Ferrari Challenge and third in the Ferrari Challenge World Finals in 2014. As a team manager, he fielded single seaters in Formula Abarth and Italian Formula 3, and a Ferrari in the Italian GT Championship.

“The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is clearly emerging as one of the most cost-effective championships in Europe. This, paired with the high level of the competition, the car’s performances and the possibility for the driver to make a difference on track made the decision to join NWES an easy one,” said Caso, who will race in the ELITE 1 Division and compete for the Challenger Trophy. “I really like the car. The plan is to expand to two or three cars in the near future, but first we will have to gain some valuable experience in 2016 to fill the gap with the best teams in the championship. I know the Ricardo Tormo and  in Valencia we expect to log miles and understand the car better. If we’ll have the chance to reach some good results, we’ll take it.”

Arianna Casoli will make her debut in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in the ELITE 2 Division, competing for the Lady Cup.

“I love the EuroNASCAR car. It is new for me and I’m back from some inactivity, but I am learning quickly and I am having so much fun with it, you really have to drive it!” said the Reggio Emilia native, who raced mostly raced front wheel drive touring cars in the past, but found the NWES rear wheel drive beast very intuitive in its on-track behaviour. “It is very sensible to every change you make in the setup and I hope to progress during the season and bring home some good result. It will be a fantastic experience.”

The Valencia NASCAR Fest will open the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series 2016 season on April 23-24 with four exciting races on the 4,005-km track Spanish track. The races will be streamed live on Fanschoice.tv and the NWES TV magazine will be broadcasted in more than 180 countries.
