Lacroix Finishes 2nd in the Pro-Line 250!

Kevin Lacroix secured a second-place finish in the Pro-Line 250 last Saturday at Eastbound International Speedway, Newfoundland. While this second-place finish is great for the championship points, it was still a disappointing result for Lacroix, who had dominated the day.

The Mirabel driver clocked the fastest time during the practice session and later secured pole position with a time of 15.814. Starting the race from the front row in the #74 Valvoline/NAPA Racing car, he managed to create a small lead over Marc-Antoine Camirand.

It was on lap 86 that he lost the lead to Camirand. The two drivers made contact, causing them to spin out, but fortunately without major damage. Lacroix was then relegated to the last place.

The remainder of the race was dedicated to climbing back up the field, which he did brilliantly, taking advantage of several cautions to help him overtake. With 84 laps remaining, he was already back in fourth place, then in second place with about sixty laps to go.

“We finished in second place, which is not a bad result, but I am not satisfied because we dominated throughout the day,” said Lacroix. “I think we could have won the race, but I am happy with the points scored. The car was excellent and very fast; I am confident we will have luck in Antigonish.”

The Riverside Speedway will host the NASCAR Canada series next weekend as part of Canada Day festivities. The two 150-lap races will take place on June 28 and 29.

The Pro-Line 250 will be broadcast on TSN on June 29 at 3 PM and on RDS on Saturday, July 6 at noon.
