No. 18 Starkey/SoundGear Toyota Camry News and Notes:

  • SAWALICH AT SONOMA: William Sawalich has one previous start at Sonoma Raceway which came in last year’s ARCA Menards Series West (AMSW) race. He finished fifth in his first start at the road course.
  • FIRST ROAD COURSE WIN: Sawalich is feeling confident after coming off his win at Portland in last week’s AMSW race. The 17-year-old started second and battled hard with Brandon Jones for 26 laps before taking the lead. Sawalich never looked back and endured several restarts to keep the top spot. Last weekend’s win was the young driver’s first road course win in his career.
  • 2023 ARCA EAST CHAMPION: Sawalich claimed the 2023 ARCA Menards Series East (AMSE) championship at Bristol Motor Speedway. He ended the AMSE season with four wins and finished in the top-five in all eight races on the AMSE schedule. He became the second AMSE champion for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and the first Minnesotan to win the series championship.
