Wyatt Coffey scores breakthrough victory at Millbridge Speedway

Wyatt Coffey broke through in a big way Wednesday evening by scoring his first micro victory at Millbridge Speedway.

Competing in the Restricted Micro division at the popular sixth-mile dirt oval, Coffey put together a rare perfect night.

He started the evening by setting fast time in qualifying in his No. 89 CB Industries entry, which he followed by winning his heat race. That earned Coffey the pole for the 20-lap main event.

Overcoming a few early caution flags, Coffey comfortably led every lap on his way to his maiden victory at Millbridge Speedway against a field that included Brexton Busch, son of two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch.

“It’s really cool to win my first micro race here at Millbridge,” Coffey said. “We had an amazing car. I just can’t thank Chad (Boat) enough. This is so cool.

“Thank you to all my sponsors, my mom, my dad, my poppy, everyone that helps me do this. These CB Industries guys gave me such a good car. I can’t wait to win another one for them.”

CB Industries owner Chad Boat is both impressed and excited to continue working with Coffey as he continues to gain dirt racing experience.

“I have been super impressed with Wyatt’s progression,” Boat said. “The transition from asphalt to dirt is not easy, but Wyatt has worked hard at it and continues to improve every time he gets in the car.”

Wyatt Coffey would like to thank CB Industries, his mom, dad, poppy, Tonya McCallister and MPM Marketing, along with his sponsors Atlanta Paving & Concrete Construction Inc., ArborLife Professional Tree Care, United Tire & Auto, Bradley’s Trucking, Team Gordon, R&M Automotive, Bennett’s Hometown Garage, Payne’s Enterprises, Todd Rental, Mt. View Auto Sales, Checkered Flag Graffix and Triple R Cattle.
